Services

Visual Fact offers a range of technical illustration services to enhance the effective communication of factual or technical information - graphically.

Using technical illustration as an integral part of conveying factual or technical information within documentation enhances efficiency, cost effectiveness and understanding.

Where words can be less effective and take longer to understand, technical illustrations are a visually empowering tool. Choosing this method to convey a message and connect better with a target audience can have a very strong and obvious impact.

Visual fact can help you achieve this.

What does a successful technical illustration do?

  • Explain visually concepts, ideas, instructions and procedures or series of events.
  • Bridge the knowledge gap between the technical environment through to end users and customers.
  • Utilises existing source information, extending its capabilities to different disciplines and tailoring it to different environments.

It’s as much about what you leave out as well as what to include. Rationing information on a need to know basis, tailored to an audience. Balancing the concept that companies and consumers are information rich versus time poor.

Types of Technical Illustration

There are generally speaking two main types of illustration:

Instructive: How to do something as seen in user, quick reference guides, service documents and storyboarded leaflets.

In Context: Seeing things as they are or how they are associated with other items as seen in parts catalogues / exploded views, general views, specification / dimensional drawings, cutaways, main illustration with supplementary, satellite or bubble illustrations.

Other types include: Symbols /Icons, Maps, Flowcharts, Graphs, Schematic / Wiring diagrams
